2025 Clinical Excellence in APRN

AAHFN Clinical Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing (APRN)

This award was established to pay special tribute to an individual who demonstrates excellence in providing care to heart failure patients through the APRN role. The goal of this award is to highlight the role of the APRN in influencing and improving the delivery of quality health care to HF patients in all settings and/or within transitions of care. Applicants will be considered based on 4 domains of advanced practice: clinical practice, education, leadership, and professional contribution to the field of HF nursing. 

Nomination Criteria:
1. Candidates must be a current member of AAHFN.
2. Candidates must be nominated by a peer, who is responsible for completing the nomination form
3. The candidate’s curriculum vitae must be submitted with the completed nomination form to AAHFN National Office via email to information@aahfn.org  by April 15, 2025. (Please put Clinical Excellence APRN as the subject)

Eligibility Criteria:
1. The nominee must be practicing clinically, to the full extent of their certification (NP, CNS, etc), and demonstrate an improvement of care to HF patients within their practice setting
2. The nominee must have demonstrated education and leadership that promotes the role of advanced practice nursing/nurse practitioner.
3. The achievements of the nominee must have an enduring value to the advanced practice nursing profession.

Award Compensation:

  • Recipient will receive recognition at the AAHFN Annual Meeting, on the website and in the Connection Newsletter.
  • Recipient will be presented with an award certificate.
  • Recipient will receive free annual meeting conference registration for the year that they are the recipient of this award.

Important Dates:
March 1, 2025- Award site opens
April 15, 2025 – Award site closes
May 1 - 20, 2025 – Review of applications
2025 Annual Meeting, Savannah, GA – Announce Winner
