Proposed Federal Loan Cap Changes: A Call to Protect the Future of Nursing

The Department of Education is proposing changes to federal loan caps that would severely restrict funding for graduate nursing students while removing nursing from the definition of a “professional degree.”

This could reduce the number of skilled nurses entering the workforce and limit the educators needed to train future nurses.
