Amyloidosis: Diagnosis to Treatment

Amyloidosis is a group of diseases in which abnormal proteins, known as amyloid fibrils, build up in the heart, liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, lungs, and/or soft tissues. It represents an increasingly recognized but still frequently missed cause of heart failure. Despite increased awareness, diagnosis and management continue to be a challenge. Accurate and timely recognition of this disease has been shown to lead to a better prognosis, increased treatment options, and improved long-term survival. This virtual conference focused on Amyloidosis offers clinicians a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to effectively recognize, workup, and treat amyloid disease.
