Purpose Statement

The purpose of this activity is to provide more information about new medications for heart failure patients, what not to give, polypharmacy, and algorithms to titrate.

Learner Outcomes

  1. Readers will understand standard HF drugs and helpful algorithms to use and titrate those medications.
  2. Readers will understand the two newest medications for treatment of HF; sacubitril/valsartan and ivabradine.
  3. Readers will learn which medications to watch out for that could be harmful for HF patients.
  4. Readers will understand how to help HF patients stay adherent with taking their medications.
