Purpose Statement
The purpose of this webinar is to increase understanding of the impact depression has on those diagnosed with heart failure and recognize the availability of evidence-based assessment tools for identifying depression in heart failure as well as appropriate treatment modalities.

Objectives
1. List three areas of life impacted by depression in someone diagnosed with heart failure.
2. Identify two areas of the health-care system impacted by undiagnosed depression in heart failure.
3. Discuss one evidence-based tool utilized to identify depression in heart failure.
4. Develop a treatment plan for the person with depression and heart failure utilizing non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical interventions.
5. Recognize two antidepressant classes appropriate for use in the person with heart failure and depression.


Requirement for Successful Completion
Participant must watch the activity, the accreditation information, complete the activity in its entirety, successfully pass the post test with a minimal score of 70% and submit an evaluation to be awarded contact hours. Participants who successfully complete this activity in its entirety will be awarded 1 contact hour.
